He sees a vision of the stars and planets in their celestial settings, along with an immense red curtain, "oji". In his mind he hears a voice exclaiming that one of those very stars represented Abraham's father Terah. After this vision ends, an angel appears and asks how great God is – to which Abraham responds "I know not." The angel points out that had there been any information on this matter, it would have been known to Abraham the son of Terah. Abraham then sees a vision of himself riding on an ass, which is followed by a vision of the sun, moon and the earth. At this point Abraham sees a ladder with interwoven rungs reaching from heaven to earth, and from earth to heaven. The angel tells Abraham that he will have knowledge of everything from this vantage point, but must return immediately. In the second vision, Abraham sees a vast continent of land filled with ruins and mounds of stone that block his view. He realizes that it is Shinar, where Abraham had been born. When he looks up at the giant mountain in the distance, he sees a stairway upon which angels are traveling up it. The angel explains that the stairway is "the way that leads up to heaven" and that this was made for Abraham's people. Then, in a vision of what is in heaven, Abraham sees the Lord seated upon his throne, surrounded by angels worshipping him. In the final vision, Abraham inquires to know how God knows all things if he does not have an omniscient mind. The angel holds forth a copy of the book upon which God writes all things in one column, while also keeping another column of what man will be responsible for. The angel tells Abraham that there are other books in heaven with writings in them explaining how man will be judged by God if he does not have an omniscient mind. The angel tells Abraham that God will reveal many more things to him, which will be written on the other books in heaven. That is why, the angel explains to Abraham, the Lord commanded Abraham to become a righteous man. Then, he would be given all of these books to read and understand. The last part tells how God revealed Himself again to Abraham at the Oak of Mamre. The two angels that appeared before also appear once more before this revelation at Mamre, but no mention of their being Gabriel or Michael is made in this account. The angels are described as being dressed in white clothes—the same clothes they had worn when they appeared before God's throne earlier—instead of their celestial garments from Satan's dominion. cfa1e77820
